Aims & Scope

The Journal of Software Engineering & Computing (JSEC) is an international scholarly journal dedicated to the publication of original, rigorous and relevant research in software engineering, computer science, artificial intelligence, information systems, digital technologies and related interdisciplinary fields.

The journal welcomes theoretical, experimental and applied research that contributes to the advancement of software development, intelligent systems, computational methods, digital transformation, cloud technologies, web engineering, cybersecurity, data science, automation and emerging computing paradigms.

JSEC gives particular consideration to manuscripts distinguished by scientific originality, methodological quality, technological relevance, interdisciplinary value, practical applicability and potential impact on research, industry, education and society.

JSEC Mission Statement

First, to provide researchers, engineers, academics and technology professionals with a rigorous and accessible platform for the dissemination of significant advances in software engineering, artificial intelligence, computer science and emerging digital technologies.

Second, to encourage interdisciplinary research and international scientific collaboration by connecting computing with engineering, education, communication, applied sciences, industry and social innovation.

Third, to promote open scientific communication, research integrity, responsible innovation and the rapid dissemination of technological knowledge in ways that contribute to academic development, professional practice and society.

Journal Metrics

JSEC is committed to transparent reporting of editorial and publication performance. Journal metrics may include submission volume, acceptance rates, rejection rates, average review time, publication time, citation indicators, readership statistics and article-level usage data.

Metrics are reported only when sufficient verified data are available and should be interpreted as complementary indicators rather than as substitutes for the scientific quality of individual articles.

History of the Journal

The Journal of Software Engineering & Computing was created as an academic publishing initiative focused on contemporary developments in software engineering, computing and emerging digital technologies.

Its development reflects the growing need for interdisciplinary and internationally accessible publication spaces capable of connecting theoretical research, technological innovation, software practice, artificial intelligence and scientific communication.

Open Access and Scientific Dissemination

Authors are expected to comply with the journal's licensing, copyright, research integrity and publication ethics policies.

Peer Review and Editorial Independence

Manuscripts submitted to JSEC are evaluated according to scholarly relevance, methodological quality, originality, scientific contribution and alignment with the journal's editorial scope.

Editorial decisions are expected to remain independent of commercial, institutional, political or personal interests. Conflicts of interest must be disclosed by authors, reviewers and editors whenever they may influence the evaluation process.

Artificial Intelligence Policy

The journal recognizes that artificial intelligence tools may support selected aspects of academic writing, language improvement, data analysis, coding, visualization and editorial workflows. However, the use of such tools does not transfer scholarly responsibility from authors, reviewers or editors.

Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, integrity, interpretation and proper attribution of all submitted content. Artificial intelligence systems may not be listed as authors or co-authors.

Substantive use of generative artificial intelligence in the preparation, analysis or production of a manuscript should be transparently disclosed whenever it materially contributes to the work.

The views, interpretations and conclusions expressed in articles published by JSEC are those of the respective authors and do not necessarily represent the views of the journal, its editors, associated institutions or publishing partners.
